The Armor Shred Problem
Ortiz's basic attack applies -100% DEF for 3 seconds with 100% proc rate. This means:
- Your tank's DEF is reduced to zero for 3 out of every 5 seconds

Optimal Team Comp
Ortiz summons minions constantly — Taunt's AoE aggro keeps everything focused on tank. Rock Dragon's ★3 rebound damage kills weak minions passively.
Ortiz's minion swarms deal chip damage to everyone. AoE heal is essential. Boar King's triple-cast chance provides burst healing during summon waves.
Whirlwind's 4×4 AoE clears minion waves while dealing boss damage. Ziggs' chain lightning at ★3 hits 3-5 targets — perfect for Ortiz's summon phases.

Strategy Summary
- Stack HP, not DEF on tank — Armor Shred reduces DEF to 0. Only raw HP survives.
- Front-load DPS — Enrage starts at 90s (earlier than any other boss). First 30 seconds are your best window.
- Decide on phantom strategy — Kill them (Ortiz gets Death Empowerment buff) or ignore them (fight 4 enemies). Generally: kill Phantom 2 (no skills, free), ignore Phantom 1 (has Ortiz's full kit, too dangerous and time-consuming).
- Watch Shield Stance — When Ortiz goes invulnerable for 6s, stop attacking. Each 3 hits during stance spawns a phantom that debuffs your ATK by -20% (stacks to -100%).
- Avoid standing near Spear Throws — Spears left on the ground become Spear Spirits after 10s.
