Each auto-attack fires 3 bolts that penetrate in a line, each applying an Ink Mark. Marks slow enemies and set up the detonation combo. Shadow Surge is the payoff — a targeted AoE burst.

Why Ruby + Crit DMG? Shu Mo's detonation at Tier 2 guarantees crit on every mark removal. Stacking Crit DMG multiplier gems amplifies these guaranteed crits. ATK gems maximize the base damage that gets multiplied. No element scaling exists in her kit.
