F2P Optimization Guide

This guide is for free-to-play players who want to maximize progress without spending real money. Every diamond, gold coin, and material matters — this guide tells you exactly where to spend them.

F2P Resource Priority (Most → Least Important)

  1. Pet Passive Upgrades — Team-wide permanent buffs. Best gold investment in the game.
  2. Monster Card Star-ups — Exponential stat scaling. Use trade permits wisely.
  3. Gem Combining — Free power from combining drops. Buy gems from gold shop daily.
  4. Equipment Affix Rerolling — Only reroll weapons/armor you plan to keep long-term.
  5. Hero Skill Resets — Only if you made a bad skill choice; otherwise save stones.

Diamond Budget (F2P)

You earn diamonds from: achievements, daily login, events, arena rewards, and Abyss milestones. Typical F2P income: ~200–500 diamonds/day depending on progress.

Best Diamond Spending

Priority Item Cost Why
1 Card Gacha (10x pull) 1,800 Most efficient way to get ★3/★4 cards
2 Pet Egg ~200 Chance at rare pets
3 Trade Permits Convert to card gacha pulls
4 Gem Select Packs When on discount

Never Spend Diamonds On

  • Gold (terrible exchange rate)
  • Speed-ups (not worth it)
  • Random single card pulls (always do 10x)
  • Cosmetics (zero gameplay value)

Gold Shop — What to Buy Daily

The shop refreshes with randomized items. Here's what to prioritize:

Always Buy (Tab 1)

Item Notes
gem Gem Select Pack Any level, always worth it
stone Stone of Forgetting 5,000–25,000g each, buy all
crystal Inert Magic Crystal For gem crafting, buy if affordable
diamond Diamonds If they appear for gold, always buy

Always Buy (Tab 2 — Pets)

Item Notes
fluid Pet Fluid Any type, always buy
feed Pet Feed Mid/High grade preferred
egg Pet Egg 30,000g each, always buy

Skip

  • Lumber — Town generates enough
  • Ingredients — Low priority
  • Speed Device — Not worth gold

See the Daily Routine for a full daily checklist and the Shop Reference for complete item listings.

Optimal F2P Team Composition

Core Team (3 Heroes)

Role Recommended Build Why
Tank Howl Warrior Keeps team alive with taunt + CC on enemies
Main DPS Poison Archer Poison scales without gear; best F2P DPS
Support Healer Mage Healing keeps team alive in longer fights

Monster Card Assignments

Hero Best F2P Card Effect
Howl Warrior Rock Dragon (★4) +15% DEF, +10% ATK, self-buff stacking
Poison Archer Forest Queen (★4) +500 poison dmg, +50% poison amp, Rose burst
Healer Mage Boar King (★4) +15% CDR, resist shred on auto-attacks

F2P Card Progression: Start with ★2 cards (Imp, Rock Drake) → work toward ★3 (Raptor, Golem) → eventually ★4 targets above.

Pet Setup (F2P Priority)

Slot Pet Passive Why
Active bat Bat Team-wide heal on auto-attack
Bench 1 raptor Raptor Swift (+25→55% ATK speed) Huge DPS boost for entire team
Bench 2 spider Cave Spider Corrode (-15→45% poison resist) Synergy with Poison Archer

Alternative bench pets:

  • lava raptor Lava Raptor — Lethal (+10→50% crit) for crit-based teams
  • slime Metal Slime — Iron Wall (DEF + DR) for survival-focused teams

Pet passives are upgraded manually with gold and materials — don't forget to upgrade bench pet passives regularly. See the Pet System guide for full details.

F2P Gem Strategy

Gems are socketed into equipment. Two categories:

  • Type 1 (Weapon/Ring): ATK, Crit Value, Crit Damage, Elemental Damage, Pure ATK
  • Type 2 (Armor/Amulet): HP, DEF, All Resist, Anti-Crit, Damage Reflect, Hit Value, HP Regen

What to Socket

Hero Weapon Gems Armor Gems
Howl Warrior Holy Crystal (Pure ATK) or Ruby (ATK) Emerald (HP) + Sapphire (DEF)
Poison Archer Jadeite (Poison DMG) Emerald (HP) + Diamond (All Resist)
Healer Mage Cobalt (Ice DMG) or Ruby (ATK) Emerald (HP) + Jade (HP Regen)

Gem Level Scaling (Each level = 3x previous gems)

Level Ruby (ATK) Emerald (HP) Sapphire (DEF)
1 30 300 30
2 60 600 60
3 120 1,200 120
4 240 2,400 240
5 480 4,800 480
6 960 9,600 960
7 1,920 19,200 1,920
8 3,840 38,400 3,840
9 7,680 76,800 7,680
10 15,360 153,600 15,360
11 30,720 307,200 30,720

Gem combining: 3 identical gems → 1 gem of next level. This means Level 5 = 81 Level 1 gems worth. See the Gem Guide for full details.

F2P Progression Milestones

Abyss Depth Target
0–20 Get all 3 heroes, equip any cards, start pet
20–50 First job advancement, ★2 cards on all heroes
50–80 Second job advancement, Level 3–4 gems, pet passives level 1–2
80–120 ★3+ cards, pet passives level 3, start saving for ★4 card targets
120–180 Full ★3/★4 cards, Level 5–6 gems, pet quality C+
180+ Optimize affixes, push pet passives to 4–5, max ★4 card stars

See the Progression Roadmap for a detailed week-by-week breakdown.

Common F2P Mistakes

  1. Spending diamonds on gold — Gold comes from Abyss naturally
  2. Ignoring pet passives — They're the biggest power multiplier per gold spent
  3. Hoarding Trade Permits — Use them on card gacha; cards are essential
  4. Spreading upgrades across too many heroes — Focus on 3 core heroes
  5. Farming low Abyss for gear — Drop level is locked to depth, farming lower gives useless gear
  6. Rerolling affixes on temporary gear — Only reroll gear you'll use for 20+ levels
  7. Skipping daily shop check — Some items (gems, pet fluid) are hugely discounted
